PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS (PV)

Photovoltaic systems convert the sun’s light directly into electricity providing efficiencies in the region of 15%.

As energy prices continue to rise Photovoltaic systems have become a viable alternative within many applications, both residential and commercial. The ‘pay back’ term has been reduced significantly in recent years with more efficient panels and more effective installation methods.

Photovoltaic systems are usually installed on the roof of a building and the energy produced can be used immediately or, if there is any surplus energy produced, can be sold back to the National Grid. Photovoltaic systems do not replace the use of electricity from the National Grid but supplement that energy, reducing usage carban emissions and costs.

These systems work in all weather, as long as there is daylight, and the average lifespan of a system is in the range of 25-30 years. This requires lower levels of maintenance than other alternative energy products.

Photovoltaic systems are ideal for use in both commercial and residential buildings with the size of system and the number of modules used being adjusted to suit the particular project.

These systems provide a neutral impact solution to meet energy efficiency targets within buildings. In an age of increasing energy costs, PV systems can provide significant cost savings over the lifespan of the system.
